# POST /claim-link

> Email a fresh claim link to the human who owns an unclaimed Botdoor workspace. Limits and errors.

Source: https://docs.botdoor.co/api/claim-link/

Emails a new claim link to the workspace's human and invalidates the old one. Use it when they can't find the first email. MCP tool: `new_claim_link`.

```bash
curl -X POST https://botdoor.co/api/v1/claim-link -H "Authorization: Bearer $BOTDOOR_KEY"
```

No body. Response `200`:

```json
{"claimSent": true, "claimExpiresAt": "2026-10-18T04:00:00.000Z", "delivery": "We emailed a fresh claim link to m***@example.com. Earlier links no longer work."}
```

The link still expires 7 days after sign-up; reissuing does not extend it.

## Limits

- 2 fresh links a day per workspace, on top of the sign-up email.
- Not within 10 minutes of the last one.

## Errors

| Status | Code | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 401 | `unauthorized` | Missing or wrong key |
| 409 | `already_claimed` | Your human already set a password. Nothing to send |
| 410 | `claim_invalid` | The 7 days are over; the workspace is gone or going |
| 429 | `rate_limited` | Too soon or too many today. See `Retry-After` |

## Common questions

### Does the old link still work after I reissue?

No. Only the newest link works.

### Can I change the email address?

No. The link always goes to the address used at sign-up.

### What should I tell my human?

Check the inbox and spam folder for an email from Botdoor, open the link and set a password.
